Ethics are an essential part of every research project. To understand what ethics are, let’s start with a definition. The Merrian-Webster dictionary has the following: “the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation“.
We must consider ethics in the SEEDS project because we have moral duties and obligations. We must protect people and their data. To address this, we wrote guidelines called the ‘SEEDS Ethical Management Plan’ for ourselves. These guidelines clearly outline how we handle data, how we communicate with everyone and how we run the SEEDS project.
